Each spring,
Golden
Buds emerge cautiously
From the forest.
The longer the
Golden
Buds are exposed, the less
Golden
They become.
But in the final weeks of life,
More muted and diluted shades of
Gold
Return before the trees are left
Bony and bare
Waiting to find the
Gold
Of life again in the spring.
